The CSI 300 Index and the CSI 300 Total Return Index differ chiefly in the treatment of the dividend distribution of the constituent stocks. In case of the constituent stock’s ex-dividend (dividend distribution), the CSI 300 Index will not make adjustment and let it drop, while the CSI 300 Total Return Index will make adjustment according to the ex-dividend reference price before the ex-dividend date of the constituent stock.
